Who I am
This website is run by Liam Mann, an independent web developer trading as Liam Mann Web Development, based in the United Kingdom. I am the data controller for the personal information described below. You can contact me at [email protected].
What I collect and why
Enquiries
If you use the cost estimator or contact me by email, I receive the details you choose to send: your name, organisation, email address, your message and the estimate you built. When you press Send enquiry, the form on this website sends those details to my email inbox through this website's server. To limit spam, the server briefly records your IP address (for up to an hour) to count how many enquiries are sent from it; this is not kept afterwards. The form does not use cookies or tracking.
I use this information only to reply to you, provide a quote and, if we work together, carry out the work. My lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to your enquiry) and, once we start working together, performing a contract.
Analytics and cookies
This website does not use analytics or tracking tools, and it does not set cookies for tracking or advertising.
Third-party services
To display this site, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and browser details when your browser requests those files. The site is also hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which may keep standard server logs. The site also uses Cloudflare, which sits between your browser and the site to deliver pages securely and protect against abuse. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details when you visit, and may keep its own logs.
How long I keep information
I keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and, if you become a client, for the duration of our work together and a reasonable period afterwards for business and accounting records. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after around two years.
Who I share it with
I do not sell your information. I only share it with service providers who help me run my business, for example my email provider and my website hosting provider, or where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to ask for it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email me at the address above.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
